The X & X2 have different hardware. More specifically...the processors & amount of RAM are different.

Ok so if I installed the leak from last month, will I still get the newer OTA? I.e. will that damned sync icon go away? Or will I have to go to the prior OS to get the OTA?

Factory reset fixes the sync icon. The only way to ota is to be on the stock os.

So go back to the stock OS in other words. That's gonna be easier for me.

Actually, waiting for the DX2 to get Gingerbread is the main holdup for me at this point in upgrading. No way I want to return to Froyo if I can help it (except to get the OTA on my DX, of course).
