Hey All, I think this is my first post in the forum and a big question (for me) at that. I did the OTA update to GB on the day it was released and it messed up my music after the letter L. I have also seen it slowing down and such. My question is would it be a good thing to reformat my SD card, put only the essentials on and factory reset my phone? For my Windows computer I do that about every year, but will that speed up Android based devices to get the unnecessary clutter off of it? Any help would be great AC'ers.

Sure, you might need to reformat your card, but before you do that, try this:

  1. From your home screen, try Menu > Manage Apps > All.
  2. Locate "Media Storage" in the app list, tap it, tap "Clear Data". Don't worry, this won't delete your music, it will simply clear the catalog data from the Music app.
  3. Locate "Music" in the app list, tap it, then tap "Force Stop".
  4. Power off your phone, wait a minute, then turn it back on.
  5. After a few minutes, your music library should begin rebuilding (which can take a while, depending on the size of your library).
