The best thing to do is use the SBF somewhere on this forum, and use RSD lite to flash it back to complete stock. Then you go ahead and set it up (google account, *228 option 1, and whatnot) and then download the gingerbread file from XDA and go into stock recovery and flash it. I left out a lot of details.. perhaps someone could help me out? Im on tapatalk and it's really hard to post links. I know someone will catch what I'm saying and explain it better for you. Lol. Im just putting in my 2 cents.

Re: GB Update issue
Glad to see a quick reply. I completely reset my phone to factory settings and found it didnt do a thing to correct the FAILED UPDATE!! Now I dont have anything on my phone and have to start over and no updated system!!!
Also found that the gingerbreak is gone off the screen but the superuser app is still there, what the hell is that all about? I cant unroot my phone now if I wanted to, which I guess doesnt make a difference since that didnt allow me to download the update earlier? - 08-07-2011, 11:10 AM

Its no wonder they lock the bootloaders. People screw with their phones without knowing what they are doing and then blame the update.
