I can't receive pictures via text

I just got my phone a week ago and my friend informed me that she has been trying to send me a pic via text and it keeps saying delivery failed. Can someone help me figure out how to adjust my settings so u can get pictures? Thank you!

this might be a problem with your network settings, some networks will require you to use a custom APN for sending multimedia or MMS, which is the format of sending videos or pictures via text. It will also be helpful to know the phone that you are using and the country you are in. Thanks.

Hello Im using my new htc desire c to receive pictures from my wife in a txt message. that is the reason I got a smart phone, we have a long distance relationship. please help. It just says message delivery failed, whatever I do I cant see her pics. what do I do. please in laymans im new to smart phones
