Slow for dual core
I just picked up my X2 and it's laggy and slow. Is it just getting broken in?

Re: Slow for dual core
Simply put, the software isn't optimized for dual core. I don't expect big gains until Android 4.0 (Ice Cream).

Re: Slow for dual core
Indeed this phone is laggy, but will be able to preform once gingerbread comes. Most of the lag you are seeing is in User interface, which is graphically intensive, and even more so because the CPU needs to calculate 518,840 pixels. Don't forget that Froyo doesn't have gpu accelerated UI, and was built for phones with only 384,000 pixels needing calculation.
when gingerbread comes, UI will be handled by the gpu, allowing for much smoother performance, - 07-06-2011, 09:47 PM #11

Yea WHEN Gingerbread comes out?? Will that be anytime soon? Probably not.

Lol well that's what I meant. I wanted ANY way to multitask. Im so used to multitasking on a WebOS device that I get frustrated sometimes, but ill take the gigantic improvement in hardware, apps and reliability over multitasking and synergy.

Re: Slow for dual core
Neither Froyo or GB are design for dual-cores. Some apps may be. We shouldn't expect significant benefits from dual core until icecream sandwich.
BTW, my DX2 is very noticeably slower than my old DX.
