Question about Google Voice..

I know Voice kind of ties everything together, in some ways.

I'm a newbie on Droid so bear with me, but I'm reading that you have to have an invite? Or do they just offer some to certain # of people at a time? I went to their link and requested it, but it said I would be contacted sometime in the future..

Confused..

It takes a few days/weeks to get the invite from Google once requesting one. Be patient. Also I think there might be a thread somewhere here on this forum where people give away Invites.

The thread itself is fine. No worries. Its more so just keeping it on the original topics, and not turning it into a thread where people are asking for or offering invites..

I don't mind at all. In-fact, I wish we had a thread with people offering their invites. But I just wanted to keep us safe from the ban-hammer

thats all well and good. but how does one get GV? I put a request in over 5 months ago with no response... any ideas?

Its honestly luck. It took mine 2 months to get to me.

I got mine in less than a month, so did my wife. I have had mine for four months, but have not been blessed with any invites to give. I have seen where people have the service for two days and get invites to give. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason... just luck as GenericMessage said.
