Default Groove IP = OG Afterlife!

Like many OG Droid owners, I have moved on to the GNex only to find I just couldn't quite let go of my trusty old pal. Well tonight, I paid $5 for the Groove IP app, and now despite its being deactivated on Verizon, my OG can still make and receive phone calls to and from any landline or cellphone as long as I have a WIFI connection! My OG is now one of the Walking Dead! (And it's hungry for brains!)

By the way, I expored several other options available for making Wi-Fi calls, including the free Sipdroid. But I couldn't get Sipdroid to work with my home WiFi Linksys router. Another option is Skype, but calls to non-Skype phones aren't free. Viber and other similar apps only work within their own network of users. BeCherry was more expensive than Groove IP. But the best thing about GrooveIP was that it just worked, immediately for calling and receving with no hassle. Setup was very quick and easy and the call quality seems very good so far.

My wife gets annoyed because I just can't give up on the OG Droid. Been using groove for a few months to call states while stationed in Korea.
