I had google talk on my storm before I got the droid so I know how it generally works but for some reason, ever since I got my droid I've been having weird issues.

I'm always signed in so the dot next to my name is green, I never set it to away or change it. However, my friends tell me that it says that I'm away. I've tried restarted it, changing from away back to available, but it hasn't changed. Does anyone know a way to fix this?

Also, this problem started when I first got my droid, so since launch. I never had this problem on my storm. It's weird.

Same here! And my friends appear away even when in a conversation. You would think Google would get this one right!

My friends said that I'm "off" when I can clearly see that I'm "on". I'm not having the issue with being "away", but it seems similar.

I get that for other people but the messages go through fine.

Open GTalk | Menu Button | More | Settings
On there, Uncheck 'Automatic away-status'.

What's happening is it is putting you to idle/away when the screen dims.

I disconnect and reconnect often even when I am in a conversation. Driving me nuts. Went to meebo until I find a fix but their current release has a similar problem.
