Text messages being deleted after forced close?
Anyone else having trouble with text messaging all of a sudden having to force close and then when it pops back up every one of your texts are deleted? I have had it happen 3 times now.
Is there something that I can do to prevent this? - 11-21-2009, 10:50 PM #2
I haven't had this personally, but I have stayed away from some of the SMS "popup" applications because some of the users reported message deletions. Are you using an app?

no app... just the stock messaging that came with the Droid. The error says "The application Massaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

Has anyone else run into this? I honestly can't be the only person. I wouldn't care if it was only deleting a few texts but were talking about the ENTIRE inbox that gets deleted.

You are not the only one. I have been experiencing this over the past couple of weeks. It seems to occur after a foreclose. Even my locked text messages were deleted, which sucks because I locked those messages for a reason. I hope there is some kind of fix for this.

I was using Handcent Sms and about 15 minutes ago it crashed and all my sms/mms are gone. This sucks cause I had some important ones on there. I don't know if this was caused by the Handcent app or the native messaging app, all I know is that this sucks.

This has happened to me quite a few times... maybe every few days. It does suck since it deletes ALL messages. Locked or not so it doesn't seem to matter what you do. It does only happen after the force close but I'm not really sure why it forces the close in the first place.

Maybe try a factory reset and see if that helps

Have you tried not force closing and selecting to wait?

This happened to me today..I had some very improtant messages in my inbox...I called Best Buy, where I bought my Droid last Tuesday. They said to bring it in and they will replace it. I asked if it was normal, they said NO.
