Does anyone else have this issue?? I am have 31 folders in my gallery. Some with only one picture others are downloading every picture or .gif attached to an email. I am using touchdown for my corporate mail. If anyone has an answer on how to clean this up I would be grateful.

I have a file manager and I am still having an issue. Most of the photos are duplicates.

Having a file manager isn't enough. You have to actually use it :D

The problem is the Droid saves pictures by source and as nearly as I can tell there's no way to change this. As a result (to use my phone as an example) if you take pictures with the camera, copy some onto the phone with bluetooth, get some off the web and copy some via USB you're going to have at least 5 folders in the gallery:
  • All Pictures
  • Pictures
  • Downloads
  • Bluetooth
  • Camera

These will correspond to the physical folders on the phone:
  • sdcard/DCIM/Camera
  • sdcard/Bluetooth
  • sdcard/download
  • sdcard/Pictures

Plus one folder in the Gallery (All pictures) that has them all.

You can get this down to a maximum of 2 (All Pictures and Pictures) by:
  • Using a file manager
  • Go into the physical folders on the phone (e.g., sdcard/bluetooth)
  • Select all of the pictures there
  • Select "cut"
  • Go to the folder sdcard/pictures
  • Select "paste"
Repeat this for any other folders.

It would be nice if there were an option to save all pictures to sdcard/pictures, regardless of source. Perhaps in the 12/11 update?

Hope this helps.

I had a different issue pop up--icons (probably tiny gif images) from a web page somehow got stored in my gallery. There were about 60 of them and I had to delete them one by one. What a pain.

I cleaned mine up from the computer. Just get it ready like your going to do a drop and drag, but delete from sd card right from the computer.

Sure is a pain, I wish it had better management. I also have some photos on there that I do not want everyone seeing and there is no way to hide them, even if you mark them hidden in Windows...

Anyone have any thoughts? Would the file explorer program fix this?
