Microphone positional distortion

I'm sure all of you with new droids ask the question "How does it sound"? Without exception when I'm sitting upright the call clarity to the person on the other end is good. But if I am laying down I'm told the call sounds muffled. I have tried sitting up without moving my hand position and quality improves. I thought at first it my hand or face blocking the microphone but I can readily duplicate this by laying down. Anyone else had this issue?

I only really gets call quality complaints when I am hold my phone like a "normal phone". If I hold it out in front of me I usually am told the call quality is better. I don't know, I'm tempted to bring it back for a new device.
