Default Easy Root on Droid 2.2.1 FRG83D

I am thinking about buying Easy Root and rooting my droid so I can use WiFi tether. Before I buy it though I was wondering if I can use it on 2.2.1 FRG83D. If not I'd rather not waste my money.

    Thank you for any help.

If not mistaken I do not think Easy Root works with 2.2, you have to use another method.

You could always check out z4root over on the XDA forums. It works.

Where can you find SuperOneClick? Is it in the forums or in the market?

It's a program you run on your computer while your phone is connected via usb. I got it at xda developers forum.
    Here's link:

Did you root with SuperOneClick before or after you installed the update? I have root now, wondering if this will have any effect on running the update.

Unroot first. Install update. Then root again. Thats what I did and it worked.

I can't get this to work, FRG83D. is 1.5.5 the most up to date of superoneclick? its the only one I can find.

I've tried all the debug on/off things, everything I do, the program immediately goes into (Not Repsonding)

If you need help on rooting...you should look in the Motorola Droid Rooting, ROMS, and hacks forums...

I've been trying to use superoneclick but I've been having some problems running it because I'm on Ubuntu

It only worked for me after doing the SPRecovery process:

To clarify: I did the process in the above link, then tried the SuperOneClick program.

The order I tried things in:

    Universal Androot -
    SuperOneClick
    SPRecovery
    SuperOneClick

    Then it worked.
