k9 email issue

on my wifes droid she gets a notification every single time she gets an email. i have the settings for all her email accounts set to only poll once every 3 hours, and yet she gets every single email pushed to her. any suggestions?

I don't use k9, so just a thought. You might have to disable push email from the email settings online. Not sure what email your using but that might help.

comcast and yahoo. and i have the same setup basically on my X and i didnt have to disbale anything. but i will check that for sure. thanks.

Are you getting K9 mail notifications or notifications from the native email app ? check settings in both

k9...i dont have the native email apps for either. thats why i wanted k9...to have all my email combined in one place rather than seperate apps.

Are you using POP3, or IMAP? If you use IMAP, and you have PUSH folders, those messages get pushed real time.

Check Account Settings -> Fetching Email -> Push Folders. Try setting to NONE.

i will try this on her phone as soon as i get home. i hope it works! i tried reinstalling k9 and everything i could to no avail. keeps getting pushed.

Its better to set it to poll every 3 hours to save on battery life but mail will be sent right away with the push service. Polling is set so your folders can sync any changes but push is set for instantly receiving mail.

So i looked last night and its pop3 not imap. And the push settings are greyed out and off. Its weird. I even put her droid side by side with my X and our settings are exactly the same. So weird.

Are both accounts POP? What servers are specified for Yahoo?

i actually deleted her yahoo acct for her bc she doesnt use it that much. so the only account ont here is her comcast one and i dont believe that has its own app. and yes its pop3.
