Navigation Use

When I first got my Droid, I was able to have turn by turn navigation vocalized on my phone- as it verbally told me when to turn, etc. like a GPS in a car would. Now, I cannot remember how I got it to do that. Can anyone help?

Go to maps, select get directions, enter your location you want to go to, then hit Go. On the next screen hit the Navigate button.

Good tip. I forgot about that a time or two and was wondering why stuff was off!

It's even easier from the Car Home. Just hit the Navigation button.

While in Navigation hit the volume rocker to make sure your navigation volume isn't too low to hear, and then press the menu button and make sure navigation audio isn't muted.

I've had turn-by-turn directions go through Bluetooth. Just make sure your headset can be connected for media purposes.
Quite a shocker when I found the default navigation volume was "max". OW! MY EARS!

How do you keep the screen from going dark while navigating?

For me when plugged in via car charger runnng Nav the screen is always on.

The car dock really helps too. I know it is a $30 expense, but if you get it, its great for navigation & holding your droid in place.
