Default Droid: Why don't my notifications make noise anymore?

I've been using Handcent SMS and lately my notifications (SMS) are coming in however no sound or vibration occurs to alert me. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've set up the handcent preferences to use notifications and the volume is up, the phone isn't in silent or vibrate mode.

I've been using the dock more, but I'm not sure how that could be affecting it.

    Help, thanks!

edit: shutting off the phone seemed to fix the problem, but this isn't the first time. Am I doing something wrong or?

This has happened to me in the past with handcent, but normally after a sending a lot of texts in one session. It was annoying but as I was texting when it happened it didn't mean I missed any. The other day though it happened with out me even receiving or sending any texts for days and a reboot did not help; uninstalling handcent immediately fixed the issue though.

Yeah it's probably a handcent bug. I may have to get rid of it, at least until they patch it. The stock messaging app is pretty good, thankfully.
