PRL hacking?

i added that line and it made my phone bounce around between 3g and 1x more during speed tests. I dont understand why. Nothing really improved or anything, it seemed worse. But then i removed that line and rebooted and it was fine after that. Ill play with it more. Good thing i have the black tie protection plan for this, ill probably swap it for an "updated" model in a few more months. Maybe the reception issues might get tweaked with a running change to the hardware or something...

I also added ro.product.rat=EvDo only to the build.prop file, as suggested on another forum, and it also seems to help battery life, I now have 0% Time Without Signal.

I am using the 0119 PRL

Tried the build.prop mod, but it cut my data speeds in half with speedtest and actually gave me the tws bug! I just removed the line, rebooted and all is fine, download speeds are back to normal and the tws bug is gone. In any case, thanks for sharing this, I'm always up for modding my phone and trying new things out.

btw I'm using prl 1119

i am using the 01120 PRL and it has improved my phones signal SOOO much! i used to get 90% TWS. its been unplugged for 5 hours and only has 9% TWS! ITS AMAZING! the 3G speeds are MUCH faster too!

I like the 1120 prl is well, seems to be the best performing so far.

I swapped to the 01115 PRL last night. It was a fairly simple process. I used the technique directly above, so no need to be fast at anything. Just relax and follow along.

On the first #2 where it says click this like; https://www1.virginmobileusa.com/myaccount/login.dofsdf

My biggest problem was that I had to run several times through the loading of the drivers and the rebooting of my phone, then I was able to move on to the QPST.

I see mention of other Sprint PRL's that are usable on the Triumph, namely 01119 and 01120. Would like to hear from someone in the know as to which is the better choice.
is this link dead now for the MSL? When i click it it just takes me to a page that says "The specified URL cannot be found"

new easy mthod for obtaining MSL code:
Download and install aLogcat (free) from the Android Market.
Run aLogcat and set it to filter for "sec_code"
Go to your Phone apk and dial ##33284#
When prompted for the MSL, type 000000.
Now, go to aLogcat. And it should have found a "sec_code:" line with your MSL code at the end of it. It's 6 digits.

WOW, THANKS ALOT MAN. Really appreciate that. it worked =o)

The only problem I'm finding is that the ports are available while booting, but once you get to your main screen the ports are no longer available to connect and make the change in QPST.

Here is the solution to getting your ports I found on AndroidForums.com:
The link to get MSL is a little past half way down the page.
The key is a little apk called AnyCut.

The MSL didn't work and then powered down my phone.

Not to be asking a n00b question here, but when you change the PRL on the MT (or ANY Android phone, for that matter), do you have to repeat the process again if you flash another ROM or wipe data/factory reset from recovery mode?

I'm definitely not looking forward to doing this over and over after every CM7 update that comes out...

I have a question.

I don't get 3G coverage in my area, only 1x. In fact, the closest 3G (according to the virgin map) is like 80 miles out.

will changing the PRL do anything for me? I don't want to go through all the trouble and still get 1x.
