    Default RSD Flash error

I've been trying to flash my phone from the leaked 2.2 to the full sbf. I keep getting the 0x7100 phone connected error. This is what my errorlog looks like:

    08:55:58, December 11, 2010
    Line: 868
ERROR: \\?\c:\users\ryan\documents\vrz_mb810_2.3.15_1ff_01.sbfučá contains an invalid path.
    File: D:\GitProjects2\hdt_windows_flash\flash\code\flashdll\PST_FP_FlashFileIO.cpp

    08:55:58, December 11, 2010
    Line: 552
ERROR: The superfile specified does not exist
    File: D:\GitProjects2\hdt_windows_flash\flash\code\flashdll\FlashHdlr.cpp
    Device ID: 0

I've tried both RSDLite 4.8 and 4.9 to get the same error. This is on a Win7 64bit pc if it makes any difference. Thanks!

If you can access you OS still you might want to do a factory reset. Also do you have the right sbf for your bootloader?

    0x7100 phone connected error -

I'm getting this same error using the full sbf. I've wiped device and tried multiple times with no difference. I've been using windows 7 on a 32bit system, running as admin. I'm coming from 2.3.15 rooted, modified build.prop, but I have since restored to stock. I'm missing Need For Speed racing app, but didn't have to be rooted to remove that. Any help with the flashing and or providing full sbf link would be greatly appreciated.

Tried a factory reset. Did nothing. As for the sbf, I have 30.01 bootloader. Hopefully I have the right one.

Its especially infuriating when it's your gf's phone, and you're itching for a reason to ditch your blackberry (storm2 even), and its 10x more problems thus far just trying to reflash this 1 time.. If anyone can give me a surefire way to go from 2.3.9 leak to official that doesn't involve this rsd madness, lay it on me.

Stock backups will save u from rsd. You could have applied one if you had a stock 2.1 backup. Then applied the ota. Backups are the most important thing. Always make a stock backup of the current system after you update.

That is extremely true. My enlightened buddy! I wasn't too familiar with the flash/backup process when I was a FNG(f#ck1n new Guy) so i too did not create a stock backup. Which would have proved very handy as of late. But we do all learn things along the journey of android. Lol

    Yeah I agree with sicario666
load up RSD 4.8 on your pc/laptop
load the sbf file (make 100% it's the correct file to be using)
put your phone into boot loader mode manually.
connect your usb cable from the laptop to the phone.
click "show device" and you should see it show up in rsd 4.8
also your phone should beep (i think) when connecting the cable.
if you see it in rsd 4.8 then click flash and it should go from there.
if you don't see it, then there is another problem somewhere along the way.
try pulling the battery on the phone and turning the pc all the way off and then back on (don't hibernate or anything like that, do a complete power off and back on)

Good method to follow. Just make sure you take your time. Don't rush. Measure twice and cut once. We all get stuck here at some point and that's when you look to the community for help.

The phone only appears if manually put into bootloader. It doesn't show in the list otherwise.

How would I go about checking if I have the right sbf file? Is there anything within the sbf itself that would say?

    that's ok.
I always put mine in manual mode anyway. so just do that..
as far as having the right sbf. it all depends on your current setup.
what i meant was make sure you have the right sbf for your current setup.
if you use the wrong file you could brick..
