I have the apex 1.3.1 rom with the gingerbread keyboard on my DX. Does anyone have an issue with the keyboard such as random long vibrates and missed hits sometimes?

Yes I had similar issues using that rom and I decided to switch to stock multi-touch keyboard and installed the black them from xda developers.

Also you may like to check out DarkSlide 4.2 rom, I am running it and I noticed a improved performance difference.

That wont work on stock keyboard, I think that only for Darkslides rom, here is the link I was speaking of.... but make sure you switch to default milti-touch keyboard before installing or you will go into boot loop...

I wish I could get it without rooting my phone. (Not Possible) I guess I'll have to wait until we finally get Gingerbread.

Turn off the Gingerbread keyboard.

Go into your Terminal Emulator and type

su
keyboard -bmt

It will work. Its not just a theme its also the latinime file too.
