O M G..is this for real? The day has actually come?
Also IMO it will prove the droid X has one of the best and most accomplished community of devs supporting any android phone.
If this happens IMO droid X has just shot up to one of the best phones out there despite all the recent phones coming to market.

Good news for sure. That's a HUGE accomplishment and congrats to those that worked on this project! I hope that future Moto phones will also be cracked, also. This is important for a number of reasons, most of which is yet to be seen. This indeed, makes the X the best phone out there, including upcoming devices. I love my phone and have no desire to have any other.

So I found more info on XDA about this.
Bootloader almost cracked? - xda-developers
It doesn't appear to be a solution that cracks the bootloader...it looks like it's a method used to trick the phone into thinking it's running the stock kernel.
That sounds like it's doing the same thing in the end but I'm not smart enough to know for sure.

Follow @FreeMyMoto for more info. Also, AndroidForums.net has a dedicated forum to the project where you can find more info out. Things stepped up a notch a couple weeks ago and we're all very excited about this.
