hard button lights

anybody know how to adjust the brightness on those hard buttons.
for whatever reason with gingerbread they are cranked up and way bright.

of course there is.. it has to be a setting in a file somewhere.
they were normal with every release before GB

This is the only thing I found for you from droidxforums:

"My hard button lights still worked fine after rooting. I could wish I had your problem because I don't like them.

If you want to force them on all the time, you might try the app Adjbrightness. It has an option where you can force the button lights to stay on. (I use this app to force them off.) Maybe this will get you what you're looking for."

sure, but it's got to be a setting in a file somewhere.. somebody just has to hunt it down.
I was asking in case one of you happen to see how to on aother forum.

that's really the only issue i have with GB.. i'm pretty happy with it so far.. i know they are set to high because the light bleeds through the surrounding buttons.. i held it up to my wifes DX (running apex 1.4) and they were much lower and as mine used to be before GB. so it's a setting in some file somewhere.

O for sure it's controlled someplace but just not a user button we can easily use. Some when xml file needs an edit.
