Need help!

Ok, so I've been reading all these threads and non of it is actually working on my phone. The problem: Wife's DX locks up on any form of typing-facebook, SMS, email, market, etc. In the middle of typing it just closes out. So, I figured I'd redo everything on it to see if I can fix it. I've downloaded a million files so far, nothign is working as the threads state:

And the thread here from step 1 to complete from froyo up. Wife's phone is currently:

4.5.588.mb810.verizon

2.3.3

BP_c_01.9.12P

I've downloaded and bought drop 2 bootstrap. I've downloaded SBF, z4, rsd, etc. When I follow the instructions, I get into bootloader, start RSD, find the file, but RSD never see's the phone connected. At least it never does when it's off. If it's on I can see it and access the SD. I did enable debugging too. So, IDK what else to do. I have tried to access recovery but it fails...power + home..quickly shows a unboxing icon then the little android toon with a triangle with exclamation point. Nothing else after that. Any ideas?

Also, there's a new sbf program out...

Factory reset might help

It's workign now, as suggesting I did a factory wipe and started the whole process. Only problem I may have is z4root. I clicked on it, its in the "working" stage saying running exploit in order to obtain root access at bottom, but its been at least 10 mins and still working. Thinking its bugged...
