I thought others might be interested in this solution for text messaging from your Xoom through your phone. This app (syncSMS) had been a battery hog as it needed to check for new texts regularly to work. The developer has just introduced a push feature in beta that seems to work really well without the battery drain.

Sure, I like this solution as the texts are sent from my cell phone number, but
GV is definitely another option.
