Anyone used Camera kit to import pics from Camera

I bought the MOTO Camera kit, cord, to import pics from my Canon Camera. Well I plugged it into both the Xoom and the Camera but nothing happens. Is there a transfer i.e. import program that I need to accomplish this? If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free.

I just connected mine... when I do... my camera gives me options on how to connect it... when I choose MTP, it opens my gallery and lets me import them...

This is how mine works. You may have to pre-set you camera to MTP, then plug it in. The gallery will appear and you can select which pictures to import.
