Roadblocks on the winding road back to stock OTA ICS

A few days ago I flashed my 4G Xoom back to the stock HLK75D image in preparation for the ICS soak test. Problem is I can't seem to get the interim OTAs needed to pull down the ICS OTA.

Once I was able to get the update to HLK75F from D but then couldn't get the next update that takes it to HLK75H which is the one you need to be at for IMM76L.

As I understand it you go from:

Stock HLK75D:
MOTODEV > Log In

to F from D

to H from F

and finally to ICS (IMM76L) from H.

From about a day of research I figure I can flash the updates with a thumb drive but a USB host cable wasn't available locally and the one I ended up ordering will probably take a while to get here from Hong Kong.

Any ideas on how to get these older OTAs to come down? Does Verizon serve them or do they come from Google's servers? Honestly I've never had this sort of issue getting interim OTAs.

Here is how I got back to stock. It will while everything. All you need is a computer with ADB, the correct files and your USB cable.

Sorry I misread your post. Are you sure you flashed the correct image from google/motorola? I would think that if you get to any valid release, you would be prompted to be updated to the next.

I flashed mine back months ago....

Good luck

Yup, that's exactly how I got back to stock HLK75D.

Problem is you need two OTA Honeycomb updates before you can get the ICS one.

And everyone says that rooting and loading custom roms are a piece of cake and there is no risk. Seems like there is risk and it isn't as easy as every makes it out to be.

I do hope you get it figured out.

I'm not sure why you'd want to go back. I am running Team EOS nightly build 94 of ICS 4.0.4 overclocked to 1408 MHz and everything is silky smooth. Compared to my wife's wifi Xoom running the stock OTA ICS, this thing is a rocket!

Let me see if I understand.

You can flash back to HLK75D from this immage provided by Motorola for the 4G Xoom: MOTODEV > Log In

But after you flash, you are not prompted for system updates that would bring you to build HLK75H?

Are you currently on contract with Verizon?
You did send in your Xoom to have the 4G upgrade?

If you answered Yes to those 2 questions above, I would flash to HLK75D, and call Verizon support and let them know you are out of date on your software and you would like help upgrading to either HLK75H or IMM76L.

I would also assume that shortly after the OTA's are complete Motorola would post the system immages for IMM76L here:MOTODEV > Products > Device Software

Good luck!
