I am now a Xoomer :-)
Found out my company would be taking way too long to get me a tablet so I went out and got a wi-fi Xoom last night from Best Buy. It was an open box so I got 10% off, but all seems to be working ok.
It did have the Youtube and Books issue that everyone talks about, but I managed to fix those through the help from these forums :-)
So far I am digging it! Very smooth and elegant. but I do have two weeks to make sure all is good before I decide whether to keep it forever. Right now, that answer is YES. But I want to make sure it holds up over the next two weeks.
Would love to see a tablet version of a to-do list that syncs with either Google Tasks or Outlook. I think Outlook would be preferred, but Google Tasks is good enough. Any ideas?HTC Evo 4G LTE

I miss my friend Matt McQuinn he touched so many lives, and in the end gave his life to protect someone that he loved. I am proud to have known him, and of the choices he made when it mattered. You were a true hero. - 04-12-2011, 08:08 PM #4

Thanks all! I am enjoying this tablet immensely in just the two days I've had it so far. Already got the Amazon stuff, thanks!
I just installed Touchdown for Tablets and now sync my Outlook tasks/email/calendar/notes from Exchange. Happy camper here!

Yep the xoom definitely rocks!
There are a lot of aps that don't work (well or at all in some cases) but it rarely matters that much since the browser works exactly the same as your computer (with a few minor differences) .
Oh an the free Amazon Cloud Drive upgrade is for a year. After that you pay ;-)Android is all about Personal Choice: Droid RAZR HD, Droid DNA, SGSIII, SG Note 2, HTC One X+, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus4... Hating is so Apple... we're better than that!

I'm loving my zoom even more now that I figured how to Bluetooth tether it to my Droid. Now I can play online with the xoom in-between innings at baseball games.

Most people don't get it until they get the chance to spend any amount of time with one. I spent several hours total on the demo units in two version stores and two best buy mobiles before buying one (about 10 visits) and it still didn't prepare me for when it was mine and being able to customize it the way I wanted and set it up for MY usage. Now I am completely sold and bout a Xoom two days ago... no regrets at all

I just returned my Xoom to Bestbuy for a new one. All is right in the world now. I had one that wouldn't download the Youtube app and the Google Books App. A number of other Apps didnt work right either. My new one works great.

I also just bought a Xoom 2 days ago from best buy..this is my first android anything and I'm really Diggin it.It is so addictive to mess with I haven't been able too put it down..lol.also it is very refreshing on these forums and hearing positive talk about the xoom...I find it to be quite amazing and I got it mainly for college..I needed flash for my college portal and the I pad just wouldn't cut it.The xoom is what a tablet should be and I firmly believe MOST of the hate for the xoom from the I pad camp is slight envy...lol...but I am content knowing that the xoom will get even more amazing with updates.Honeycomb is brand new so it will take a bit for bug fixes...witch I'm fine with....wrote this from my xoom....take care my fellow xoomer`s

I'm in the process of listing a bunch of my old gadgets on eBay to make a little cash to cover the $600 I spent on my Xoom :-)
One of the things I am listing is an old Windows Tablet PC. As I was cleaning it off tonight to prepare for eBay I was amazed at how big and clunky it is in comparison. It was also getting very hot as I was using it. We've come a long way!

I'm think going to pick up a Xoom tomorrow, just can't decide if I want the WiFi or 3G model.
I've been lurking the forums here for some time and have a lot of useful info, I hope to become more active and contribute what little bit I know.
And now that I have the Thunderbolt my VZW iPhone is the next thing to go up on eBay.
I have owned the original Droid, Incredible and the Droid X, and no matter how many times I give iOS a try, I always come back to Android and plan on staying with it this time. I just simply get bored with iOS. - 04-18-2011, 01:11 AM #24
I got the Verizon 3G model and here is why. The vast majority of the time I am using it on WiFi at home or a few other places I frequent HOWEVER there are places I go that do not offer WiFi. For those places I pay $20/month for the cheapest data plan which I use only when I am not in ranger of a WiFi hotspot.
