Can we get a refund? A few months in tech time is forever. LTE was promised within a month.

I have a wifi only model so it doesn't really apply to me... I am just hoping that the little surprise Google has an update for Honeycomb, because as it stands now, this thing feels very betaish.

Waaaaaaaa. Another thing for Xoom owners to wine about. Man up Xoom owners! This is a great device stop finding one reason after another to complain. Man up!

Regardless of when it was promised, for this product family at this early point in its development, waiting until "summer" is just about the same as forever. There will be a lot of new products introduced as everyone tries to out-compete the others. Unless I had a pressing need for a tablet right now, I think I'd sit on my hands and my cash.

To be totally honest I was not looking forward to sending it in for a week. I'm kind of whatever about it but it would be cool for VZW or Moto to throw us a bone.

I can't say l'm happy about it. 4g was one of the things I was looking forward to. I guess I'll have to be more patient.

How great can the Xoom be, when there are so many legitimate things that can be found to complain about it?
VZW/moto/google can't even compile a friggin' kernel to enable the god-forsaken SD card slot!
Hell, they won't even say that the SD card will be enabled sometime this summer, like the LTE upgrade. Might not happen until the end of the Mayan calendar, for all we know.
The Xoom is an unfinished product, at best. It's time you man up to that fact, just like birther's need to man up to the fact that the Mocha Bush (Obama) is, in fact, a natural born US citizen.

Oh well, until then they get no money for data from me.

And yes, the SIM card from the Bionic works great in the Xoom! - 04-29-2011, 08:42 AM #16
I'm so glad I returned my Verizon Xoom to Best Buy when I still could. At the time it was predicted by several tech sites that Motorola would screw up the update process and well, it looks like that prophecy is coming true.
The take away is never buy an unfinished product with a promise from the manufacturer to complete it later. By the time the Xoom is fully functional there will be better, cheaper, and more complete Android tablet options. - 04-29-2011, 12:22 PM #17
I returned mine yesterday also. I really like it, but it is at best a Gen1 product, maybe more like a public beta.
I understand the competitive pressures to get into the market, but releasing an admittedly unfinished piece of hardware, and then having to backtrack on the timetable for delivering the promised parts, is poor - and the world will not stand still while Moto and VZW figure this out. Too bad...it is a really great piece of hardware.

I still think its great. Did you sell/return yours? I look forward to updates but I got mine working fine for me. My sd card works. I have the Verizon XOOM but don't use data on it so 4g don't matter to me. Wasn't looking forward to sending it away.

I hate to hear about douchebaggery like this, but maybe all the returns will light a fire under their butts.
My opinion is that if you couldn't afford the device, you should not have bought it in the first place. If you have to use a credit card to pay for your toys, then you should buy cheaper toys. Buyers remorse is a terrible thing, only compounded by the fact that you borrored the money.

Well, first, where did I say I couldn't afford it, or did you never manage to learn to read?
Second, the only remorse this buyer had was that a great product hasn't been adequately followed through on by Moto, Google and VZW.
Third, if Moto/Google/VZW can move the goalposts on the 4G (and probably the SD card) update, how on earth can they - or you - object if people return the product within the return period? That is exactly the kind of feedback that the market provides. Vote with your feet, as one of my favorite presidents said.
Finally - "douchebaggery" - I guess you'd know?
Thanks for playing.

Not sure why people who don't own a Xoom keep coming back to the Xoom forum. You bought one, you hated it, you returned it for a refund. Now move along and troll somewhere else. We don't need the negativity here.
