I have recently moved mobile provider to GiffGaff, and ever since I've joined text messages have been sent from my Nexus 4 to my home phone. They (typically 5 at a time) are sent when I first switch on, or possibly when I re-connect with the network. When I play the messages on my home phone they start with "Bin" and are followed by a very long sequence (up to 2 minutes when read out) of numbers and letters. GiffGaff deny any responsibility - but I didn't have any problems with my previous provider - Tesco mobile.
Are there any apps that could account for this behaviour? I haven't added any appos or changed anything of late so it's hard to see how my mobile settings are responsible. Is there any way that a mobile provider could initiate the process of sending a text in this way? My PAYG balance is being rapidly eroded and GiffGaff have washed their hands of this - very conveniently.
