Why I have to root my device specially nexus 4?
Why I have to root my device specially nexus 4 if it is on the top on the line, i mean it has the latest software as google released. Sorry for asking this. I am not the tech person or programmer, i just want to be educated on this and do it as well in correct manner to update my device myself.

You will get the latest updates first by having a nexus device. Rooting is good for installing tweaked versions of Android that add features that aren't there and increase performance through over clocking or increasing battery life by under clocking. You also get to install apps such as ad blocker, free wireless tether, and a variety of other useful apps. Really it just gives you full control over your device but at the cost of you being able to potentially harm your device.

All the things undertothenight said
I'd add the rooting doesn't hurt you device at all, but it does remove a safe guard that COULD mean that MAYBE some time you MIGHT install something that COULD do something that'll hurt it, if you grant it root access when it asks for it.Thanked by:
