Nobody seems to be giving you any answers on this, but that's because there is no definitive one to give. Because of all the apps and settings you can have on your device, sometimes a kernel might run better on one phone than another. I'm a huge Franco fan, but that doesn't mean that another kernel wont perform just as well. They are pretty easy to try out and see what works best for you. One of the things I like so much about Franco is his app ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...].). It's not required to run his kernel, but it does have a bunch of extra features that allow you to tune the kernel to your liking.Quote:

Thank you, I shall try that kernel. I am still a bit new to all of this so I'm still trying to learn what works best for me.
hmm.... time to search up what a kernel is XD. well at least i'm getting more experienced in rooting and factory reset (because i keep screwing up my phone i have to do a couple times)

oh hey what do you know. androidcentral did a article on kernels http://www.androidcentral.com/android-z-what-kernel
The matr1x kernel works pretty well for me
Tried most, keep coming back to Franco...

Yeah I tried the Franco kernel, it's awesome for me!
It's run the best on every phone I've owned. I went through a period with my GNex where I was constantly trying other/new kernels, but every single time, I cam back to Franco. I don't even try others now, which could mean I miss out on something, but I'm content with that.Quote:

I would have to agree I have also tried plenty of kernels and I always come back to franco
I am running CM 10.1 nightly (latest 7 April update) and faux123's mako kernel. Everything is very stable, even when I OC'ed to 1.836 ghz and UV'ed -75. (You will need to purchase the fauxclock app to fully customize his kernal).
I'll agree with franco.Kernel being killer... Tried it on the Gnex and liked it so much it went straight onto the Nexus 4.
I'm running the stable version right now alongside stock Jelly Bean. There is no overclocking there, but at 1.5 GHz quad why bother? It's the controls inside the paid app that make the big difference. Well worth $5, IMHO.
What is a kernel and how do i flash a custom kernal? how to get back to stock?
Please point me in the right direction...i have factory reset my phone using fastboot and also rooted my phone...so have basic knowledge...
Thanks!
Yup. Franco is legit. Trinity is a close second, but once Franco got the issues with JB resolved (talking way back in June/July last year lol), it was smooth sailing.Quote:

AOKP is based off AOSP.. small but important correction :)Quote:

Sorry my bad!

Nah, AOSP based. A few cherry picked CM features but most of their features are fully coded by their team. Don't feel bad it's a very common misunderstanding :)Quote:

Yeah AOKP definitely has more features then CM like being able to change the colour of navigation buttons or adding the day in the status bar.Quote:
