Error During Encryption

I need some Android troubleshooting help! I was running CM 10.1.3 on my phone, everything working fine. I was trying to add my school email back on the phone and it asks to set up a pin and encrypt the phone. I hit ok for it to start and it goes to the CM loading screen for a minute but doesn't show me any progress with the encryption like it usually does. I'm thinking there is some kind of problem so I restart the phone (*****!). When it boots back up I get a message that there was an encryption error and I need to do a factory reset after rebooting my phone. However, after it reboots I have no option to reset anything. So I go into recovery mode in order to load CM10.1.3 from there but when I try to load from sdcard I get E:Can't mount /sdcard/. Do I need to do install from sideload?
