Found this on a tips and tricks site, but doesn't work for me. Swiping right does nothing.
Current camera version 3.1.024. Does it work for you? If so, what version do you have?

11. Enable Manual Exposure Settings for more Camera Control

The camera on the 6P captures a lot of light, which means that indoor photos look great. It’s a massive improvement on previous Nexus models, and one of the best features on the phablet.
If you want more control over the camera, you can enable manual exposure settings to control how light or dark the image will be. This is done by;

1 Opening the camera, swiping right, and pressing the cog icon on the top right to bring up the menu bar.
2 From here, go to Advanced, and tap Manual Exposure.
3 After the setting has been enabled, you’ll have exposure controls on screen while you’re using the camera. Press the menu button and they’ll show up along with all of your other camera options.

Doesn't work that way now. Your settings are on the left. Single tap the setting and it goes into manual mode instead of auto. Long press to get back to auto.
