Another 6p?

So I've got a 6p stuck in the boot loop of death. It's bricked and is worthless other than being used as a paperweight. I really loved this device and am considering getting another one. My question is...Is that really a good idea? I don't want the same thing to happen again. How common is this issue?

It's pretty common, considering all the BLOD threads in the XDA forum. Doing a search for bootloop in the Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum brought up these results...

personally, based on all the info coming up now with 6P's getting bootloop and my previous experience of LG with the same problem, i wouldnt rebuy the phone....but thats me. I am now waiting for it to happen, this will be my 3rd Android phone to experience this problem. sigh.
