Can I root with a Macbook?

I'm probably the odd duck in the pond as I've got a Macbook for my computer, an iPhone 4S for a phone and a Nexus 7 for my tablet. I love having the variety and being able to tinker around.

Anywho, as the title implies, can I root with a macbook instead of windows computer? I like being able to get down to the nitty gritty of things and fiddle faddling around and experiencing each OS, iOS and Android, to their full potential.

BTW, love the forums. You guys are great.

Hey, I just got a Nexus 7 and it won't connect to my Macbook. If you have any advice on how to get that fixed I'd be super grateful. Please and thanks!
