As digitalslacker said... worst case is you have a softbrick -- easily fixable, don't panic!! Hopefully you made a backup and can just boot into recovery and restore that?
If not, might have to check my guide for restoring the factory images... its not hard at all and will get you right back to stock condition. For the future, always make a backup before tinkering with stuff

Soft bricked has come to mean a number of things. People use the term so loosely now that it can even mean a boot loop.
Easy enough to check, get into the bootloader and try adb devices and see if it's listed.
As far as I remember using the images will completely wipe everything on the device. Just like it came outa the box.
