Which ROM(s) do you like best for the Nexus 7, and why?

Also.. Which ones have you tried, and what did you like or not like about those?

I like the ROM. There are a good amount of CyanogenMod tweaks that make the tablet more useful.

Same here, I unlocked, rooted and installed CWM, but nothing I really care to flash yet. Too many Alpha/Beta roms, I'll wait for some stable/milestone releases.

Paranoid Android. Being able to set tablet mode and DPI on individual apps is beyond awesome. Plus, it's based on CM10 so it has all those goodies as well.

PLEASE post a live link to PA for N7 if you know of one. I have been searching for a live link for days. The goo.im for the PA developer seems to have taken the grouper version off.

So....I'm going to ask the dumb question of the benefits of rooting the nex7(aside from fast boot time, cpu tweaks?).....I have maguro rooted so spare the crazy comments.
Stock seems fine to me but I'm open to reasons to root.

Rooting doesn't have any benefits. It just allows lower level access to parts of the phone. Faster boot times and cpu tweaks will come from a custom kernel and/or ROM.

If you don't want to go that far about the only reason you may want to root the N7 is for titanium backup or similar apps.

This. In reality, rooting allows you to grant root-level permission, that's all. Unlocking is the true "beneficial" act, IMO.

I also like to root so I can freeze apps I do not like. On the N7 I have found when I use Nova Launcher sometimes it jumps into default launcher - if I freeze it this issue goes away. Also, if I prefer a different browser I will freeze default browser...small thing I know but it does have a benefit for me.

I'm a big fan of AOKP, but I've used CM10 and Paranoid Android on my Nexus 7 and they all work pretty well.

I liked Paranoid Android on my tablet.. i loved the hybrid/tablet/phablet options and it ran pretty fast. But currently, BlackBean is the winner because of the customization level. So many options and so easy to change the DPI to tablet mode if you wanted it to be.

I have tried: Classic nerds, Blackbean, glazed bean, baked, CM10, AOKP, Paranoid Android and a few others . My favorite rom for now has been EOS 3 for the Nexus 7 it has some unique features and allows you to use a tablet mode ui if you like it is fast and stable. give it a try. I recommend trying roms and seeing which one has the features you like.

AffinitySERIES is a good stable rom with some nice customizations. I have it on my n7 and my gnex.
