Unhappy 4.2 Upgrade - Downloading but not installing (CWM issues?)

I have a Nexus 7 running Android 4.1.2 (Build number: JZO54K) that received an OTA update to Android 4.2 just minutes ago. I downloaded it, clicked install, and watched my tablet boot up into CWM. I click the 'volume down' button several times to get to 'Yes - Install untrusted update' and then pressed the power button to select it. My Nexus 7 booted up and works fine but it's still running Android 4.1.2, as opposed to 4.2. Was it supposed to boot into CWM? If not, how do I resolve this issue? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

EDIT: It may be worth noting that, no matter how many times I try, Android insists that my software is currently up-to-date.

Read Zero Neck's guide.. He included a section toward the end on flashing the stock recovery back, which is what you need to take the OTA.

You can't update using the OTA (even if you are stock) if you are not using the stock recovery. So at some point you chose to install CWM when you unlocked and rooted.

    Two options
    1) Go back to completely stock using the stock images which will completely wipe your device, then take the OTA and be done. You can make a backup of everything first (using TiBu) if you are still rooted and restore later.
    2) head over to XDA where a few people have posted stock versions of 4.2 that are flashable via CWM. Those are pretty much stock but they are dedoxed and some have mods.

I'm going back to stock now with the images using WUGS and hopefully just take the 4.2 OTA if it's available for me, otherwise i'll flash manually using this guide Nexus 7 Android 4.2 update download link now live | Android Central

All good! Ended up working out OK. I went back to 4.1.1 with WUGS and got an OTA to 4.1.2 then an OTA was there for 4.2. Made me feel good, I never see OTAs for versions I'm not already on ;-)
Did a restore with TiBu (from DropBox). Back in business.

That'll calm my itch until Bugless updates

Word... how are you liking stock 4.2? I've been itching to flash the factory image just to try it but just haven't had the time this week for anything fun, lol. At least I should have that shiny new Nexus 4 in a few days

It's nice...haven't played too much with it yet
The dual notification pull downs is going to take a little getting used to but i like it
I like the new clock stuff and the dreamscape thing.
Haven't played with the multiple users's one and not sure I will.
I tried the keyboard already on the gnex and wasn't a fan
That little security warning when you try to side load apps is cool to see. It pops up when you start a TiBu restore so that might be worth adding to your guide
Camera stuff doesn't apply to this device but I really do like it.

Couple things to note from a dev perspective, the additions of the profiles is messing up how the SDCard is partitioned up so user 1 is in a "0" directory (sdcard\0)
That's been causing a few problems with apps and I know SuperSu and ROM Manager had to be updated to deal with it.
It doesn't seem to be an issue when you are connecting via MTP on windows.

That's it so far. Seems faster but that's probably placebo and the fact that I was due for a wipe anyway

Sorry if this is a really nooby question, but what is WUGS? Also, what is TiBu? And how do I flash the stock images?
    Thanks in advance

Wug's is a toolkit for unlocking, rooting, and restoring. He has a thread for it in the Verizon Galaxy Nexus section, and it works for the Nexus 7 as well.

TiBu is short for Titanium Backup, it's an app you can use to backup your user apps and data for restoring after you wipe your phone when you flash a new ROM, for example.

Flash the stock images using fastboot or Wug's toolkit. In general its always better to learn to do things manually, as toolkits are never reliable all the time. There's a guide stickied in this section to walk you through the manual method.

Hello, first post on this, or any android forum, so excuse anything I might say that is stupid. Problem: I have a nexus 7 running 4.1.2 (Build number: JZO54K). I am trying to get the newest jelly bean (4.2) put on this nexus without erasing the whole thing. My device is rooted with an unlocked bootloader. I had CWM on it and my device wouldn't take the OTA update. So i used Zero Neck's Guide to flash back to the stock recovery (4.1.1). Now when I try to boot into recovery from ROM Manager, I get sent to the stock android recovery, so I assume my recovery is correct. The problem is that after correcting my recovery and taking root permissions away (temporarily) with Rootkeeper, My OTA still won't install. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the stock recovery you flashed is the one from the 4.1.2 image if you are indeed on 4.1.2.
