Nexus 7 Wifi 4.2 Root issues *please help*
I'll spare you the details of how I got to where I'm at. Bottom Line is I lost root when going to 4.2 and can not for the life of me get rooted again. I'm trying to flash CM10
Anyways, these are the things I've done to try to get rerooted
1) Hard reset - doesn't work
2)manually wipe from PC (done this multiple times with evo)
3)Tried rooting with 2 different tool kits
4) Bunch of other crap for 8+ hours
Another issue is when I try to boot into recovery, it won't go into recovery mode. Any option I choose reboots my tab to lock screen. Ive deleted all drivers from PC and any and all apps that are root required ie Busybox and CWM Rom Manager
I either want to start from scratch or throw the dang thing at a wall. I love the Nexus7 but today, I've freakin had it! All issues are fully my fault and I'm hoping for mercy from the Android Gods!
I apologize if things dont make complete since as I'm seeing double and my brain is fried.
Thanks

Reinstall the ROM manager and use it to boot into recovery and install cm10 or just reflash the superSU package

Thanks for the quick response!!!
Can you recommend a program to open the .img? I've tried Deamon but it doesn't support, I downloaded magicISO which does support but it fails to mount the image on both my PCs. WinZip doesn't do me any good either and I don't have Nero, the free version is useless.

You don't need to open the img file, you write it to your device via fastboot.
