Nexus 7 Kernels
What is the best Kernel for the Nexus 7?
I find it a bit slow some times....

Re: Nexus 7 Kernels
I've heard that Kernel Klink, although incompetent, can be amusing at times. Since this is the general N7 forum, where for many of us the extent of our knowledge of kernels is limited to old TV comedies, I'd suggest posting your query in the Rooting and Hacking subforum.

Re: Nexus 7 Kernels
Any question like that will almost always be answered with "it depends", mostly on what you are looking to improve.
It sounds like you are looking for speed and snappiness. LeanKernel is nice, supposed to be pretty fast. I never liked it, felt unstable to me for some reason but I haven't tried it in a while.
I personally prefer Franco's because he supports multiple devices, has proven to be pretty consistent with updates/fixes and it's configurable with his app which you can also use to easily update things. I'm not into hoping around as much so once I find one that does what I need it to do and well enough, I'll stick with it. I'm running Franco on my N4, N7 and my Gnex before that. I try new ones every few weeks but always end up coming back.
Motely's stuff is pretty good too, used that on my TFP for a while before I moved over to HB's stock kernel.
Just hit XDA and look for the top few threads with [KERNEL] in the beginning of the topic and then at the number of posts in the thread to get a good idea of what's popular. Then start trying them.
