I can confirm, I just ask about it and they told me friday. All they had was a case though for sale now at my store. I was hoping to get the car dock early.

You're traveling to a place that has no Verizon stores? Is it on this planet? You can buy your phone from any Verizon location, even out of state.

If you get lucky enough to find someone who doesn't mind being unemployed, maybe. If "out of town" is a place that has a VZW store, that'll be your best bet, IMO.

Disneyland 7am till close. Hmmm maybe they will have at least one left at the verizon store on saturday. Seems like small batches are getting shipped out.

I know you can, but I'm working all weekend and there are no VZW stores near me...I already checked. The closest is 40 miles away and probably won't have a chance to get down there. If indirect retailers are also carrying it on Friday that my be an option, but from my experience they usually don't carry phones right no release day.
The leaked documents mentioned that the dec 9th launch was for "all channels" so maybe you'll have luck with retailers.

Compared to the Bionic launch, seems like almost twice as many going to most stores. Read in a thread that there's a minimum of 15 going to each store......most stores only got like 6-7 Bionics for launch day.

Sadly it is looking that way unless they sneak one in on us tonight or something. No point in having a preorder thur and people getting the phone after it is available in stores.

Plus most stores will probably get a second shipment in over the weekend since they are supposed to have a marketing push next week not that it will sell out right away IMO.
