Having owned a Roku and Fire TV the Shield blows them out of the water. I am very happy with this purchase and hope more people buy one so developers push the Android TV platform to where it should be.

I ordered the 16gb with remote. Should be at my house tomorrow night, but I won't get to play with it until Friday. Happy Birthday to me! Can't wait. I had the nexus player and returned it immediately. Was waiting for something better to come along and it finally has. I hope. I have 2 chromecasts and use them all the time, But I wanted something more robust.

Loving mine so far, though there are some imperfections. I think I'm going to get an IP TV tuner so I can use it as a cable box also.

Ordered one (16GB) on the 3rd and got it Friday. It does exactly what is says it does. Considered the 500GB version, but $100 for 500GB is way too much, and it's not enough storage for movies anyway. The USB 3.0 ports and plug and play with NTFS drives so you're much better off with the 16GB model and buying your own storage.
