Some manufacturers of late have eschewed very high pixel-count sensors in favour of a lower count and larger pixels, but OnePlus have chosen 16mp and small pixels. Nevertheless, low-light performance seems hardly to have suffered, and overall performance looks very good, with effective HDR - a disappointment on some phones - and reassuring manual settings.

Paired with OIS I think this phone is going to have a good day-to-day camera for mot consumers. Yes, there's always going to be "better" camera's out there; however, for the price ($399) the hardware is hard to beat.

Unfortunately I'm on Sprint, so this phone is a none starter for me. But I am very interesting in seeing the early impressions from consumers as to how this phone performs.
