It's been a few years since I've flashed a rom or tinkered with a phone's software. Right now I've got a 100% bone stock OP3T. I'm assuming that unlocking the bootloader and flashing the beta software will wipe my phone? And if so, is there a reliable way to backup my phone before I do so (including system settings, wifi passwords, etc)? Last time I did this stuff was when I had my Galaxy Nexus (I think support eneded with Jellybean 4.1) so it's been a while.

I'll probably use an all-in-one tool to do the hard stuff. I don't trust my mad ADB skilz yo (haha)

Any help? I feel like a rookie all over again!

You actually don't need an unlocked bootloader (although it's the first thing I did when I got my 3), so you should (note this word, SHOULD!) be able to sideload without losing data, they even put out a guide:

http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3t/oneplus_3t_oxygenos_openbeta_4/

I'm sure someone has made a flashing tool, but I don't use them, because ADB is better, sorry.

It's worth noting that if you decide to go back to the stable channel, you probably will have to wipe, and with a locked bootloader there isn't really a reliable way to backup.

I finally got around to doing this. I kept running into the issue that ADB couldn't read the file. After some frustration, bad words, and googling.... I found that I'd you disable your Antivirus it works great. If not.... You're gonna be trying for a long time!

Good to hear you got it working! I also always seem to run into those simple things that keep things from running smoothly anytime I tinker. I get the frustration!
