You can't trust a OnePlus timeframe I hate to say, now cyanogen is another story. I imagine it will be soon, they're weekly update mentioned something about being close to rollout i believe. I'm waiting along with you

I'm hoping they'll have various colored plastic backs although I'd be afraid to try to get the original back off of mine. I'd rather have something bright though. I might be the only person who doesn't care for the feel of the sandstone back. It's like sand paper to me.

They posted an announcement saying that the wood model prototypes were just not up to standards so they had to redesign them which would take a while. It was posted on the oneplus.net forums.

It would be neat if they could do an onyx or agate back. Heavy and breakable though.

As played out as it is, I'd like to see carbon fiber. Leather and aluminum would be nice too.
