Unpartition SD card
AOSP was giving me some lag issues that I didn't really care for so I decided to completely wipe everything and install Bumblebee. Well, that was the plan.
Right before I installed the Bumblebee ROM I decided to partition my SD Card from ClockworkMod Recover v3.2.0.1 (I did this by going to Advanced -> Partition SD Card -> EXT Size 512MB -> Swap Size 16mb).
I installed the ROM and everything was working fine. However, when going into USB mode and adding files to the SD Card (which was now 1.5GB instead of 2GB because I partitioned it), the system would not detect the card or its files that I put on it.
So I wiped everything once more and went back into recovery mode. I tried to partition the EXT size to 0mb, but there isn't an option for that. I also tried to format all the necessary mounts but that didn't fix anything. I know this because if I mount USB storage from Recovery Mode, Windows still only reports 1.5GB of space.
Windows only detects that 1.5GB of space so I don't know if I can simply delete the smaller partition and resize the larger one. Does anyone know how I can fix this stupid mistake of mine? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Re: Unpartition SD card
I've already backed up my SD card to my computer, but when I format it from USB Mount via Recovery it doesn't get back the space used for the EXT partition. I also don't have any interface to plug my card directly into my computer (I don't know if that matters or not).

Re: Unpartition SD card
I actually just had this problem, for the first time, today. I plugged my phone into my xp machine and it was saying that my 8gb card only had 6gb free then I plugged it into my w7 machine and it showed all of it. Copied my stuff to the comp and then re-partitioned my card to be safe and then copied everything back...was weird though.
It takes less time to hit thanks than it does to type it out...
I dig being flamed so FLAME ON!

Re: Unpartition SD card
You seem to misunderstand. I partitioned my SD card to have an EXT partition of 512MB (therefore leaving 1.5gb for data). However, my phone is having problems with that so I just want to get my SD card back to a single partition.
I don't have a way to plug my SD card into the computer, so does anyone know how I can resize/delete my EXT partition to 0mb, getting my SD card back to normal? - 08-04-2011, 04:31 PM #8
Re: Unpartition SD card
Try formatting it in the settings menu. I believe it is under sd card and phone storage. You have to unmount the sd card first.

Re: Unpartition SD card
try connecting the phone cable, turning on usb storage:
sound like you're using windoze, so right-click "my computer" click manage, and open disk management.
use that windoze utility to delete the "unknown" partition, the fat32 partition too, and make a new fat32 partition the full available size.
WARNING: make sure that you select your card drive and not a drive in your computer! repartitioning will destroy the data on whatever drive you do this to.Last edited by bigsupersquid; 08-04-2011 at 04:44 PM.

Re: Unpartition SD card
I tried formatting it via Recovery Mode but that didn't actually modify the partitions, only formatted the data on them. I then tried to turn on USB Storage and format it from there, but it would only format the data partition (the 1.5gb partition).
I went out and got a SD Card reader and when I formatted it using that, it worked. - 08-04-2011, 05:24 PM #11
Use EASEUS partition master to delete the partition and then make the first partition take up all of the empty space.

Re: Unpartition SD card
OK, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to unpartition my sd card. I've looked everywhere and nothing works. I have a 16gb mico sd partitioned to swap 32 and ext 1024. I've tried formatting it with sd formatter and partition mini tool. Nothing.it just shows 14.8gb. Is there any surefire way to get all 16 gb back?

Re: Unpartition SD card
if you have linux, install gparted...
(open terminal)
or you can use the software center if on ubuntu... either/orCode:sudo apt-get install gparted
search for your sdcard and you will see the two partitions... (make backups)delete both, create a fat32 partition, and copy your backed up data back to your sd card... should work... :-) - 11-11-2012, 10:52 PM #15
