NOW SUPPORTS NEW AND OLD OPTIMUS V's !

I made a mod of the latest Harmonia ROM with some apps added, some deleted, some graphical changes and some other added features from the Bumblebee 2.4 ROM. Unfortunately you won't be able to get the full benefit of my custom mod because nearly all the apps I added are paid apps, so you'll have to pay for your own :p I have however included some free versions (or alternatives) of the apps I did include. Full "changelog" is below.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible if you bork, brick, or in any other way damage your device. You should always make a nandroid backup, and follow all the directions carefully. Remember the old saying "measure twice, cut once."

How to make a nandroid: Boot into recovery (Home, Volume down, Power buttons until LG logo appears) and find the backup & restore menu on your recovery. hit backup and watch it go. :)

Recoveries: I used IHO Recovery (version 4.0.1.4.3, found here: https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/android_device_lge_thunderc/wiki/IHO-Recovery) However this should work with most recoveries that support edify scripting.
If you have a newer OV (the one with the "S" screen) then I'd recommend using BobZhome's modified IHO Recovery as it has the necessary kernel adjustments. found here: VM670NH_recovery.img

DISCLAIMER #2: This is a mod, it is not supported by the creators of either Harmonia (LeslieAnn) or Bumblebee (obijohn). Do NOT go to them for help with this mod, post all questions in this thread.

Screenshots:
first picture is home screen using the Launcher Pro launcher, second picture is the notification area. (I changed the default background for version 2.0 because well, I figured some females might want to use the ROM but don't like that the default wallpaper is of a girl...lol you can find the original at the bottom of the thread.

To read more about the basis of my mod, the original Harmonia ROM: http://forums.androidcentral.com/op...rodite-picasticks-11sept11-storage-fixed.html

Changelog (what I removed from/added to Harmonia to create this mod):

PowerOn sound
Changed the PowerOn sound (this is the sound that on the stock ROM, loads with the VM bootanimation) to the KDE 3.5 startup sound. If you'd just like the sound file: PowerOn.mp3 On Harmonia it loads with this screen:
harmonialogo.jpg

Sounds!
added the Harmonia sounds zip, so no need to go and flash the ROM then the sounds. This has them both, so all the original sounds from the stock ROM are there (minus the PowerOn sound of course).

Graphics!
I added the black bars from the Harmonia thread here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/op...sticks-11sept11-storage-fixed.html#post847192.
blackwithlargepercent.png
I also changed the boot animation from the green Harmonia script to the bootanimation.zip that is in the Bumblebee 2.4 ROM (preview below).
R3ODH.gif
If you'd just like the boot animation, that is here: bootanimation.zip

Other things from Bumblebee
I added the sdspeedfix script and the hosts file (only in 2.1) from the Bumblebee 2.4 ROM. If you load up stock (or the original Harmonia) you should see a difference in how fast your SD card is being read. For more information: [Script][CWM] Increase Read Cache for better SD Card access - xda-developers The hosts file should help those Bumblebee immigrants feel more at home, as it blocks ads (and is updated as of October 13th, 2011). NOTE You don't need to download anything from there. I have already included the files, the link is just for those who want to understand what the script does. Also added in version 2.1 and above is the hosts file from Bumblebee. This file blocks most ads.

App changes
Added: Dolphin Browser HD - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ils?id=mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser&token=7_3J_kdA Chrome to Phone - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...gle.android.apps.chrometophone&token=bapYHc7H ColorNote - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...le.dictapps.notepad.color.note&token=IOLxs3VU File Manager - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...apps/details?id=com.rhmsoft.fm&token=o2sDyfwM Flashlight - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ls?id=br.com.xdsoft.flashlight&token=t8T5_Hqi Launcher Pro - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...s/details?id=com.fede.launcher&token=PIf1MPUP (I've included both the stock launcher and Launcher Pro, for those that want to choose. If you don't want Launcher Pro, just get a file manager and delete it) Links2SD - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&token=bAYqYwvn (for those that want to move their apps to the SD card. Can be removed with a file manager) Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Music app (Music 4.0.1) - http://forums.androidcentral.com/op...ew-google-music-4-0-1-ice-cream-sandwich.html (Thanks to JerryScript for posting this find) No Frills CPU Control - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...d=it.sineo.android.noFrillsCPU&token=jHFnqN_e Titanium Backup - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...d=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup&token=mEvg8tdE Where's My Droid? - https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...om.alienmanfc6.wheresmyandroid&token=nM9u9d-4 (for those times you've lost your phone and can't find it) Removed: stock browser Live wallpapers (I see no point in them, they just waste battery life) stock music app

I have to give thanks to LeslieAnn and obijohn, for without them creating their ROMs for me to tinker with, I would have never gotten this together

Re: [MOD] Harmonious Bumblebee

Could you please list the apps you used before you replaced them with free ones?

Certainly.

I have on mine:

GrooVe IP

Google Voice (I didn't add because I didn't know if that many people actually use the GV app. but it is free and I can add as long as Google doesn't send me a cease and de?sist letter lol)

Screenshot It (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.edwardkim.android.screenshotitfull) - Has a trial free version, but after the trial is over then you're stuck with it on your ROM, unless you get a file manager to delete it.

I removed the stock Swype files and installed the Swype beta, however I was told Swype would frown upon placing the updated beta files on the new ROM, so I left it out)

and Root Explorer - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer (which ES File Explorer replaced)

The rest that are on my ROM as core apps are purely for my own purposes, like the Unified Remote (paid version), Photo Vault/Video Vault (to keep those "special" pictures away from the regular gallery), Beautiful Widgets (I didn't see a free version for that), and Green Power battery saver https://market.android.com/details?id=org.gpo.greenpower2 but unfortunately the free version of that didn't like being installed in system.

I was originally going to put on Terminal Emulator as well, but alas it doesn't like being put in system either, and I haven't learned enough to edit the install instructions so I could install things to the /data partition.

Now if you have a file manager, you could go in and delete all these apps and just use the ROM for the speed tweaks and graphical changes.

Re: [MOD] Harmonious Bumblebee

Thank you. I have some of those already! :)

I'm thinking of trying your mod. Hey, if I don't like it I can always revert to my Nandroid of Harmonia. If I do, I will be back to let you know what I think!

When installing, do you recommend just wiping the cache and dalvik cache? Or should I do more?

Re: [MOD] Harmonious Bumblebee

I'd probably recommend doing more, just because I like getting rid of my chances of screwing up. lol

But I don't think I changed THAT much...so I guess you could try just wiping cache and dalvik...

(I've always wiped everything when installing a new ROM lol)

Do you just delete the file in /system/apps or are there other files for each program in other directories?

Re: [MOD] Harmonious Bumblebee

I'm currently using Harmonia 1.6.1c but I'm considering using your rom. Some of the things I would of liked to change about Harmonia you have done: Via the bootup and deleting browser. Lets give it a go.

Any chance you could post the boot animation...? I have looked under the bumblebee ROM and could not find it posted, and felt it was best not to resurrect the thread.

Greatly appreciated...

Re: [MOD] Harmonious Bumblebee

Sure, I'll have to do it a little later since I'm on my phone and it's on my desktop. But the boot animation won't be in the bumblebee thread because it wasn't something that was added afterwards, it was included in the ROM.

EDIT: got the bootanimation out of the zip and uploaded it. Link here: http://www.mediafire.com/?j1cdaa635yyza5l (also added it to the first post)

Re: [MOD] Harmonious Bumblebee

Hi, I've been wanting to try this ROM out for a while now but I noticed Harmonia has an update of 1.7. Would you possibly be able to make a 1.7 version of this MOD? Thanks.

Yup I just noticed the new update as well. I'll have it up by tomorrow night at the latest.

Re: [MOD] Harmonious Bumblebee

If you use the BB kernel, you will remove the newer OV display compatibility which Harmonia 1.7 has.
Other than that, the updates are minor.

Duly noted, but nope, still uses the Picasticks kernel. So as long as I don't screw anything up it all should still work

Re: [MOD] Harmonious Bumblebee

Not that's its ugly or anything, I just don't like branded stuff. Is there a way to remove the Harmonia logo at the beginning? Also the sound. I like my stuff silent.

The logo at the beginning is part of the boot kernel, so no easy way to change that without editing that file. Which can be done, but I dunno how lol (the harmonia logo is in every harmonia build from LeslieAnn)

The sound at boot can be silenced/changed by deleting and/or replacing the PowerOn.mp3 file located in /sounds/poweron (I'm pretty sure that's where it is, if I'm wrong then sorry)

Thanks, I'll look for it. Great MOD BTW. I love both Harmonia and Bumblebee.

Re: [MOD] Harmonious Bumblebee

Once the 1.7 version comes out, would you be able to link me to where I can get the green startup screen of the Android bot instead of the blue? I just have a green phone case and I'd want it to match (yes I'm weird like that) :p. It would be possible to change the startup image right?

Yup you can technically change both, but the Harmonia logo at the very beginning would be quite hard to modify and have it work, so I've been told. But the blue boot animation is just a file called bootanimation.zip and I believe it goes straight into /media but I'm on my phone and not running this MOD right now so I can't check but I'll let you know what I find
