I just did mine, know the scary part is hoping that I take out everything that had to do with recovery

Exactly. I'll be careful to remove all the recovery stuff so I don't brick my OV at all. What do I have to add to make the update rooted? Can I just put superuser as a system app?

Just use the Update-Binary and Updater-Script from Bumblebee ROM. You well also need to copy over the SU binary (updated in the Terminal fix), and Busybox over, and init.d folder and anything that has to do with ext file system support.

The SprintHiddenMenu.odex I had to force it to deodex.

So I'm trying to rebuild bumblebee from the new update right now and I almost have it done, except for one huge problem. All other kernels except the stock kernel found in the update, break screen rotation. Its the weirdest thing because there are no force closes, no reboots or anything when using a different kernel, but the screen acts as if the "rotate screen" box is unchecked (Obviously I've made sure its checked). I'm kinda going crazy as to why its doing this. Do you devs have any ideas?

No no I'm saying that using the new kernel with the update from virgin mobile makes nothing rotate ever. I know the launcher isn't supposed to rotate.

I might have found something because I extracted the kernel and found some differences in the init.thunderc regarding the accelerometer

This vm update is a pain... a lot of useless work just so that it says "2.2.2" in about phone. Does anyone think its worth it to mess with the update until I get a new kernel to work right or should I just stick with old 2.2.1? Is there any reason to update this based on the 2.2.2 (besides new screens which can be fixed via kernel)?

Well if you're rebuilding from the update perhaps your rom won't have the random reboots issues iho is currently having with the new radio. I know that everyone isn't having problems but some are and i'm sure they'll appreciate it

Step back take 2 deep breaths and walk away from the computer for a while. Your work on this will be appreciated but there's no sense stressing over it.

Getting close... EarthnFire78 directed me to a kernel (bobzhome 3.7) that currently has everything working with the update except wifi (driver problem). Wifi is the last thing to fix with the new update and then it will be done.

I'm adding some UI changes to the vanilla version, nothing major, but the one thing I hate about froyo is the huge icons in the status bar, so I changed some code so they are all resized smaller to the size of the icons in gingerbread. This way the status bar doesn't get cluttered looking when there are alot of notifications.

A black statusbar is nice but all the icons are black so they are hard to see. I'll play around with different colors

The problem was the WPA_config file, and wireless.ko need a little tweaking.

Flash the latest Harmonia 1x statusbars, unless Anthonycr did anything serious in them, they should be 100% compatible.

I've done it before. They are compatible.

That you do, if you flash leslies statusbar mod. Note: her mod changes the text color of the statusbar and the clock to white and the statusbar itself to black, so like I said, the froyo icons are difficult to see.
