Question about ADB over Wi-Fi

I have a question, and it regards to the adb over wi-fi function that the cm7 roms seem to have (idk about the other cm7 ones, I've been on H2 for the longest xD). How does it work? In detail, how do you set it up, if the function works at all, it said something about using the wifi, but when I did that my computer couldn't seem to find the phone (unless it means/has something to do with Bluetooth).

Jerry told me you have to do:

adb connect 192.111.11:5555

the 192.111.11 is just random numbers I typed. Replace that with your IP address and put :5555 at the end. Then you could do ADB push, pull, and so on.

Thanks, I have to try this when I get the chance. Lost my usb cable and I'm too lazy to get another one atm xDD.

I typed my whole ip and put :5555 at the end, and it didn't work, also tried just putting the first 3 pairs of numbers then :5555 and both tell me "unable to connect to "ip address""

Did you activate it first? Settings->Applications->Development->ADB over network, check it.
Then try only with IP, no port# ":5555". That's what works for me. Like

adb connect 192.111.111.111
