Updated 2nd Post, updated both patches to include Zakman's Color Banding fix, so now there's a smoother color fade instead of bars(or bands) in places like the settings menu!!

I'm thinking of using Jelly Bean as my daily now

My port is finished, weird thing about moving latinIME to data and using jb gapps is that it doesn't show up at start you have to set up you google account later and go to input settings and disable voice input. but then keyboard functionality works.

Also, if we changed the Android Version in build.prop to 4.0.4 would we have the apps we did with ics?

Doubt it, cause its still 4.1 software.
Changing it to 4.0.4 just tricks the play store, and the about phone menu.
Other than that, it won't really change the apps.
I restored all of my apps from quattrimus AOKP, currently I'm running Drew's CMX Jelly Bean port.
Figured I'd go ahead and set everything up, and create a back up I can bounce back and forth between the two aforementioned ROMs.

I'm pretty sure we've been using gingerbread kernels. tdm's working on an ics kernel.

The kernel in Drew's port, is the same one in tdm's quattrimus beta1 rom.
I'm just surprised that we are using an outdated kernel, without an apocalypse of bugs!

what kernel are you going to use instead? I don't think there's a better one for our phones yet until tdm finishes with his ics one(or someone else finishes it first. ) I have my hunches about some people.

Honestly, I believe BobzHome's Kernel is the best.

From what i understand, to replace the kernel, you need to decompile the boot.img, and replace the kernel with the one you want, recomplie it(and I think sign it.. not sure), and repackage the ROM.

Bob's kernels are usually the most stable, his was the favored kernel of nearly all IHO ROM devs.

Yes, if you don't want the one prepackaged with the rom.
Without a kernel, the rom wont boot.
Its always best if the dev packages his/her kernel of choice with their rom.

It could be a recompiling issue, hard to tell when it hangs at the LG screen.
