hello newbie here,
I rooted my optimus v using gingerbreak 1.2. Created back up with ROM manager. tried to flash with BACKside and when booting it freezes at the point i believe is right before lockscreen. it says Before you Flash Always Backup, with an android flashing me. so i tried to reboot pressing the down vol / home and power and LG flashes and goes to a black screen, i also tried with the battery out holding the cam and back button while plugging in charger, i cannot seem to access any recovery menu. Is there anything else i can try?

after cruising the forum i have now seen Rom manager is not compatible, well i guess i learned my lesson!

Thanks in advance for the replies

You will need to use adb to flash a compatible recovery to your phone, go to the development thread and check the stickies. There is a guide there. Sorry I don't have time to give more info

Download and install the drivers for the optimus v, then download the tool in my signature, boot the phone into what you think would be the recovery (Should be a black screen), then download a recovery, I recommend the one mentioned in my post. Open Romtools, and choose option 3, then type in the name of the recovery and wait for it to flash.

Oh yeah, I forgot about your new rom tools. That would be a lot easier. I still need to play with that

Yeah, it makes things alot easier. That was the propose. In the next release, there will be nandroid backup and restore. =D All recent verisons include adb, and java for signapk to sign files.
