"3. Connect phone in recovery mode (Phone off> Volume Down + Home key)(This will not work with certain recoveries, in that case you will need your MSL code here and then dial ##PORT# and enter MSL code (aka SPC code))"
How do I know I'm connected? I launch the sw update then it gets to unpack ZD5, I let it stay that way for 30 mins, 10 mins and 7 mins on three different trys. I get to my recovery mode by holding down home, volume up and power. I tried it that way, and I tried it the way listed above.
What am I doing wrong?
What did the program say?

Got it. Thanks for your time.
If anyone is still running into issues you may try this, it worked for me.

30 minutes, I believe your battery is dead. Get a charged one.Quote:

i took out the battery and it worked !
Now I'm having trouble with the clockwork recovery.
I've followed this to step 10. Then I get an error that says it cannot unpack the file.
I followed on with the balance of the steps but nothing changed.
When I power on the Optimus V, it just goes to the white LG logo and hangs.
What should I try next?
Thanks in advance for your help.
It has to be in emode. Follow step 3Quote:

I'm on the flash burning part for like 50 minutes, and it's still going. What should I do?
What does it say? Is it stuck? Try without battery.Quote:

Finally went to my laptop and installed everything fresh from there.
Also, I had to use the following from Upgrade/Downgrade/Return to stock directions:
5. In type, choose 3GQCT
6. In Phonemode, choose DIAG
In step 5, I had to set it to CDMA. Then it all came back alive.
Without these steps, I was stuck in Emergency Mode regardless of what I
did.
Thanks for all your hard work. Major lifesaver for me.
Sammy, Your a life saver. Tryed to "fix" my wifes phone, bricked it, keeped reloading the ROM everytime the phone was turned off and on. Needless to say your guide worked.
Thanks Again
I have done this for several times now and I get well along into the software update. and i get the error message and then i take the battery out and put it back it. Then it runs for a while the it gets to the reset phone part and the phone gets stuck on the recovery. from there the phone is stuck on that and even if i take the battery out and simply turn it back in it just turns on in recovery.
I have done it like 10 times now with the same result.
Any help? My phone wont wont mount the sd card so i cant install another recovery. i have tried with 3 sd cards now and it wont work. Any help will be well appreciated
Factory reset and hit reboot. tell me if it still wont work.

That didnt work. I am still having the same issue. It goes through it all but when the phone resets, it just resets into the recovery.
And the sd card it is still not mounting.
I'm having an issue like G.Monroy.92
Steps 1-8: Okay
Step 9: Upgrade Error / WParam: 100 / LParam: 84
Step 10: Okay
Step 11: "reindeer battery" = "reinsert battery"?
Step 12: Okay
Then it ends up at:
Phone: CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.5
KDZ_FW_UPD: Step : Phone Reset(DLL Cmd)
On phone I "wipe data/factory reset" and "reboot system now" and I get to:
Phone: CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.5
KDZ_FW_UPD: Upgrade Error / WParam: 100 / LParam: 92
And phone keeps rebooting into recovery.
I have done the steps 10+ times both with and without the battery and either the above happens or it gets stuck on repeating "Step : Flash Burning(SDRAM to FLASH)".
I updated to VM670ZV9 without thinking about waiting for it to be road tested then rooted as per ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]). I wanted to get rid of crumbs of things I installed/uninstalled and without thinking (once again) I did the Menu / Settings / Privacy / Factory Data Reset. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, I can't afford a new phone and losing my grandfathered plan! Any other information you need?
Yes, it bootloops into the CWM-based recovery.
Does it still get into recovery?

I don't know why it shows my response before your question, but yes, it bootloops into the CWM-based recovery.
Did you try to start from emergency mode??? That would help if you haven't tried already...Quote:

Yeah, as per the OP Unbrick Directions. I followed those directions many times (and any adjustments discussed in the comments since OP) and I just keep getting bootloop into CWM-based Recovery.
I think your battery is dead, anyways try this: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] will fix your boot loop...Quote:

In the Root instructions followed previously ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]), it talks about "Prevent Recovery Re-Write". Is there something I need to do to enable the Xionia installation?
Flash the flashable xionia zip (one may not exist, if that's the case I'll make one) then hit reboot recovery.
